Almond butter rose date bark

I love any recipe or snack that includes dates as the main ingredient! Dates are incredible for you, known as “nature’s candy”. They are full of fiber, potassium & provide a large source of energy per one date. They are great as a pre workout, especially when paired with a nut butter or piece of dark chocolate, or both as I like to have them. When refrigerated or frozen, dates take on a caramel like texture, which is why this recipe is so decadent!

The best part about date bark is that you can easily get creative with it and personalize the flavor combination in whichever way you desire. This one is an almond butter chocolate & rose bark, topped with sea salt to finish.

Date Bark Ingredients

  • 1 packet of pitted organic medjol dates

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • 2 tbsp almond butter

  • Handful of loose leaf rose petals

  • Sprinkle Sea salt

Assembling the Bark

To begin, take a plate or pan and line it with parchment paper. Now, ensuring all of your dates are pitted, smush the dates face down on the plate, placing them one by one next to each other, making sure they are touching side by side, so there is no space between. Add your almond butter on top and spread evenly across all the dates. Now, in a pot on low heat, add your tbsp of coconut oil, let melt, then add your chocolate chips. Stir as they melt together with the coconut oil. Once fully combined and turned into a chocolate sauce, turn the stove off. Pour the chocolate over the dates & almond butter and spread evenly. Add your rose petals over the whole bark, and sprinkle sea salt.

Place in the freezer for an hour, then remove and slice into bites. Store in the refrigerator or freezer (depending how cold and crunch you like it) for up to a week!
