Gut Nourishing Papaya Boat
A tropical papaya boat that doubles as a digestive aid! This five minute papaya boat is the perfect way to start your day & digestion off on a good note. Papayas contain two enzymes called papain and chymopapain, which aid in digestion & lower inflammation. Papaya is also high in fiber and has a relatively high water content, promoting a healthy digestive tract.
To build your papaya boat, you will need 1whole papaya, coconut yogurt, granola, fruit of choice (I like blueberries and a few banana slices), honey & almond butter or nut butter of your choice for protein.
1 papaya
1/4 cup coconut or greek yogurt
Gluten free granola (1-2 tbs or as desired)
Handful of berries (blueberries or raspberries are my favorite)
Drizzle raw honey
Nut butter of choice (optional)
To begin, slice your papaya down the middle. You will find that there are seeds inside. Gently scoop the seeds out and store in a bowl if you’d like to use the seeds for smoothies or another digestive recipe drink. Next, place half of the seeded papaya on a plate or in a large bowl. Add one to two scoops of your coconut or greek yogurt, 1 or 2 tbsp of granola, a few slices of banana and a handful of berries, and drizzle with honey to finish!
