Spirulina Chia Seed Overnight Oats

I have become a big fan of chia seed overnight oats over the past year, as it’s a perfect breakfast or snack to meal prep and have on hand throughout the week. It takes minimal time, ingredients and you can add, as well as substitute different additions to change the flavor and variation of this bowl. Not to mention chia seeds are the perfect way to start your day and support healthy digestion. Chia seeds provide an adequate amount of fiber to your breakfast, serving as a natural digestive support.

These spirulina chia seed overnight oats have become one of my favorite variations of this recipe, being that Spirulina is an incredible supplement to your diet. If you are unfamiliar with Spirulina, it’s a blue-green algae rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients, boosting your immune system and helping your body to fight off infections more easily. The addition of nutrients like this into my diet have helped tremendously in my personal health, as I almost never get sick when I am consistent with making recipe that include supplements such as Spirulina.

The key to this recipe is making sure you add enough sweetness to balance out the somewhat bitter flavor of the Spirulina.
